NLC Laser "Moving Target Systems" are comprised of two highly specialized computer controlled motors. Each motor has a mirror attached that deflects the laser beam in a synchronized fashion in order to generate the desired pattern. With the use of real time encoder feed back, a moving targets position is tracked. Position updates occur every 60 microseconds producing incredibly accurate results.
The software includes features such as scaling so minor sized modifications can be made on the spot. Eight different laser power levels can be used in any single pattern. This allows drilling, kiss cutting, etching and through cutting all to occur in any given cycle. Pattern position can be incrementally shifted by as little as .001 inches in the X and Y directions. Laser firing is initiated based on time, distance or an input from another device such as a sensor. This is an ideal tool for parts carried on conveyors or moving web processing.

The non-contact, extremely high temperature characteristics of this system produce extremely clean, sterile results that are a perfect match for medical and pharmaceutical applications. Holes measuring as small as .006" diameter can be easily achieved. Once process parameters have been optimized, they can be stored and later recalled by product name or part number. These units can act as stand alone units or can be slaved to a master control on your production line.
